Spatial-temporal changes of land-use mercury emissions in China

چکیده

Land use change is closely related to human activities, and has significant impacts on pollutant emissions. Mercury (Hg) the most toxic heavy metal element gas damaging environment severely, China largest mercury Yet, there inadequate research which measured emissions caused by land in China. To assess systematically, we establish spatial-temporal series of land-use emission inventories considering indicators both natural anthropogenic analyzing effects type conversion intensities. The results show that had a growth rate 1.35% from 2000 2015. Regions with large increase were those built-up expansion. embodied calculated multi-regional input-output model an average increasing 16.53% 2007 Further, mining industry residential accounted for about 73.1% Jiangsu Shandong emissions, while Xinjiang Gansu but rather small land. can inform pollution mitigation policies through management.

Mercury emissions from biomass burning in China.

Biomass burning covers open fires (forest and grassland fires, crop residue burning in fields, etc.) and biofuel combustion (crop residues and wood, etc., used as fuel). As a large agricultural country, China may produce large quantities of mercury emissions from biomass burning. A new mercury emission inventory in China is needed because previous studies reflected outdated biomass burning with...

Impact of spatial-temporal variations of climatic variables on summer maize yield in North China Plain

Summer maize (Zea mays L.) is one of the dominant crops in the North China Plain (NCP). Its growth is greatly influenced by the spatial-temporal variation of climatic variables, especially solar radiation, temperature and rainfall. The WOFOST (version 7.1) model was applied to evaluate the impact of climatic variability on summer maize yields using historical meteorological data from 1961 to 20...

Spatial-Temporal Variations of Water Quality and Its Relationship to Land Use and Land Cover in Beijing, China

Rapid urbanization with intense land use and land cover (LULC) change and explosive population growth has a great impact on water quality. The relationship between LULC characteristics and water quality provides important information for non-point sources (NPS) pollution management. In this study, we first quantified the spatial-temporal patterns of five water quality variables in four watershe...
